Warm Holiday Wishes from SD73

Posted On Friday December 19, 2025

Dear Parents & Caregivers,

As students and staff begin their winter break this weekend, we want to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for the many ways you support students and positively contribute to fostering vibrant school communities across the Kamloops-Thompson School District.

While this year has brought both successes and challenges, we are continuously inspired by the ways our school communities come together with strength and care. When Westmount Elementary School closed after a fire this fall, school communities near and far reached out to support and uplift Westmount students and staff during a difficult time—this is just one example of the wonderful community spirit that defines our district.

From extra-curricular coaching to seasonal concerts to fundraising and volunteer efforts, each school and its community makes a difference and sends a strong message of connection. Moments like these, big and small, happen every day throughout our schools and communities. We don’t take for granted the work that goes into organizing these special moments that bring to life our District mission by supporting the creation of environments that inspire students to thrive.

On behalf of the Kamloops-Thompson Board of Education and District leadership, we extend our heartfelt thanks for all you do. Wishing you a restful and joyful holiday season filled with warmth, laughter, and time with those who matter most.

With gratitude,

Heather Grieve, Board Chair
